A website for Zandland, a documentary film company, built around a full rebrand by Office of Overview.

Film is the product, so the site needed to do it justice. Video performance, motion and the overall sense of craft all had to be at the level the work deserved. We worked closely with Office of Overview throughout, using their references as a starting point and bringing our own thinking on interaction and scroll behaviour where it strengthened the whole.

With video at the heart of the content, performance was non-negotiable. We built on Mux to ensure fast, reliable playback across a content-heavy archive. A site that buffered or stuttered would have contradicted everything the brand was trying to say.

Office of Overview provided detailed references that set the tone for how the site should feel in use. We worked through those closely, then proposed additional interaction and scroll behaviour that felt continuous with the brand. That back and forth shaped the final result as much as the references did.

Sanity and Next.js give the Zandland team the flexibility to manage and grow their archive over time. The system was built so that the design language holds however the content evolves.
